Team Structure
As a sophisticated team
The Team Structure of Sophia Racing is splitted into two sections; the technical team which designs and build the car, and the management team which manages the team. The technical team is then divided into 3 sections; Chassis team which specializes on the framework and underbody of the car, the Powertrain team which designs the sections around the engine, and the Aero Dynamics team which specializes on the car design and appearance.
Each of these teams have a team leader, and there is a project leader who controls the whole team, with the team leaders' support.
Using the YAMAHA YZF-R6 Engine for a motorbike, the powertrain team aims for high rotation and high power, by developing induction/exhaust system , cooling system, lubricating system , and fuel system, and also by developing simulation softwares to design each parts.

The Chassis team are incharge of frame design, underbody design such as Suspention geometry, design of the pedal unitm break system, steering and shift unit. The team is also incharge of the development of the drive simulation program.

The Aero Dynamics Team builds the cowl, which is the most important part of the car when it comes to appearence. In order to design the car, we use Pro/Engineer which visualises the cowl design in 3D, and therefore enables us to design as we like, even for the sections that would be difficult to design in 2D.

Unlike the powetrain, chassis and the cowl team, the management team does jobs except design and building, such as the team managemet and jobs to do with the sponsers. Because F-SAE activities are supposed to be based on a virtual corporation, the management team's jobs are very important. They are team management, jobs to do with the sponsers, joint research with corporations, activity report on the web etc. for the actual corporations to look at, and so on.
To manage the team, the management records and takes care of the activities done by the other teams, by holding ta weekly team meeting etc, in order to make it easier for the team members to do their activities. Data of each parts such as the manufacturing cost and the weight is managed by the management team, which makes things easier for the technical teams, and also, by the management team managing the parts' data, it makes it easier for the technical teams to share information, which helps to shorten the manufacturing time.
For the competitions held in different countires, the management team takes care of the registration, accomodation, and the time schedule during the competiotion, and moreover, collecting informations about other teams. As for the events in the competition, the management team takes charge of the cost report and the presentation event. For that purpose, study of the sales stratergy of the car and market research are needed.
The jobs to do with the sponsers are the important part of the F-SAE activities. We go to actual corporations to ask for a sponsorship deal, in order to recieve the team's management fee and material support. We send an activity report to our sponsers, for every event we take part in. We also believe that it is important to appeal to general corporations, so for more people to get to know our activities, we have released our information on our website.
As you can see, the management team not only manages the team but also has a wide renge of activities in the actual society, as representitives of the whole team.
Support team
Sophia Racing incorporates the people who specializes in the fields other than design, building, and management. They are drivers from the car club of sophia racing, and Web Director who designs our website and optimizes its setting. There are also teachers and graduates form Sophia University who supports our management of the team. People from each of these fields are essential for Sophia Racing.
