Design Philosophy
Introduction
Sophia Racing has kept on challenging Formula SAE including the overseas competitions such as F-SAE in USA, ever since 2000 when we started off as a joint team. We, as a pioneer in Japan, have always set "Prove to the World" as our target, and kept on evolving to show our strength to the rest of the world.
In order to sophisticate our designing technique and knowledge, we pass on the techniques that we have gained from our experiences to the members of the next generation. Also, by always challenging uncompromisingly, we believe that it will be possible to build a racing car that can compete in the world.
It is also our aim to enhance the merchantability our car by pursuing the basic design of a racing car, and by achieving well on competitions with a lightweight car that can provide the best driving environment for the drivers.
Moreover, we do not just build a car, but also think about the effect it will have on the environment and try to reduce it. To keep in mind the concept of the competition, which is to train future engineers who can build a car like that with a wide vision, and to appeal the manufacturing technology of Japan to the rest of the world, is our passion.
