Merchantability


We have always kept on seeking for a racing car that is higher in level as a product. There are three factors that a amatur driver expects for a racing car. They are human engineering, drivability, and quality. By reflecting the requirements from the driver in our desinging, it will be possible to commercialize a high-level racing car.

Human Engineering

In terms of human engineerigng, this year's car has made a large improvement compared to the past cars. Thses are the main improvement that we have managed to make:

Pedal Unit

For the each different drivers to drive the car comfortably, we have adopted the adjustment mechanism for the pedal unit. By doing this, it was made possible for the drivers to adjust the position to fit to their body.

Driver Seat

Driver Seate have molded the shape of the seat from the ready-made seat, changed it slightly to fit it to the drivers, and made it from CFRP which is lighter in weight. By doing these things, we have not only managed to lighten the weight, but also enhanced the functional fixedness for the drivers.

Full Scale Model Of The Car Frame

By making a full scale model of the car frame and fitting the seat into it, it was possible to decide the position and the angle of the steering wheel and the pedal unit in advance, and by doing that, we have made a comfortable cockpit for the drivers. At the same time, we have also decided the positions of the parts around the driver, which became useful for making effective use of space and for the distribution of weight.

Drivability

DrivabilityWe believe that for the 'Driving Pleasure', in other words, to gain the pleasure of driving, drivability is essential. We are able to provide high drivability for alll drivers. That is because we have done the following things:

Suspention Unit

We have adopted attenuation control system for the sock absorber , and so the drivers can adjust it as they wish. It is also possible to change the spring, which means that they can also make smaller changes.

Steering System

By abopting brake balance bar in the brake unit, it was made possible for the drivers to adjust the braking ratio of the front and back brake. In the Steering unit, by making the steering tie-rod position-variable, it is possible to adjust the Ackermann Ratio that is right for the condition of the course.

Drive Control System

As for drive control, by adopting traction control system and launch control system, it is possible to handle the car safely and easily. These systems reduce the stress of the driver and give procise aid.

Quality

We have not only took notice of the performance of the car, but also the quality of the car. The following efforts made it possible for us to make a car that is has both of high performance and high quality.

Appearance

AppearanceMany parts, such as the cowl and the seat, are designed based on human engineering. By using 3D CAD, we were able to design a beatuiful, stream-line cowl. Aldo, by making the switches of the steering similar to the ones in the sttering wheels of Formula 1, it raises the spirits of the driver.

CAE

By designing with 3D CAD, we can check the troubles such as the interference of the parts in advance, and the time that takes to manufacture the car has shortened as well. Moreover, we can conduct FEM Analysis many times parts at the stage of designing, which makes the car more reliable. With Digital Mock-up, it was also made possible to reflect and check the changes instantly.

Safety

This year, we have conducted experiments by making several test models of the inpact attenuator. By conducting actual experience as well as simulations and by reflecting the data form them, we were able to enhance the drivability of the car.
